Class 2 ( Résumé édité sur le site du Royal Temple Yacht Club)
There was a fierce fight at the head of the class involving three local boats and contingents from the East coast and France. Nigel Theadoms new Projection 762 'Crikey!!!!' out of Harwich laid down the gauntlet with the first win and in the varying and mainly medium conditions always sailed well but struggled to maintain any supremacy. Chris Denby's Cory 33 'Mr Lifter', with local ace Paul Woodward out of X99's and on the Helm, showed good pace and 2 wins midweek but was caught up in the tussle with good pal and arch rival Mike Brand on his and wife Jo's X99 'Xcaliber'. The third local boat was the Corby 'Waveplane' of Matt Green and Darra Cheeseman, always consistent but never quite winning. The French challenge was headed by the bottom rating Phillipe Bourgoise First 31.7 'Marine Diffusion'. Consistently in podium positions but never first. Another 31.7 team, all under 20 years old, came in a chartered boat from Dunkerque and competed well, keeping Dieppe's 'Hinanho 2' at bay.
